Woodrails
A few years
ago I worked out a trade with someone on cj-8.com for a nutmeg original tonneau cover for the under dash heat vents. I bought some
tracks from specialty tops and had them sown onto the tonneau
to avoid drilling the body with holes for the snaps. It's a nice set up that
matches the half top and interior but I always felt it was missing something
because the tonneau has holes for the original woodrails. I have had an eye out for some wood rails on ebay and the for sale section of cj-8.com but prices where
in the hundreds. Not too long ago I worked out another trade, this time for the
rails in exchange for the original clock and black padded grab bar. The rails
go with the original look that I want for the scrambler which is built and
modified for wheelin.
And here they
are......

And here they
are installed....
I didn't like
the color and wanted something a little different than the original
"oak" finish I've seen in most scramblers. So I went to west marine
and picked up some Epifanes varnish to give is an
"old boat" look.

So there ya go......
