1982 Jeep CJ8 Laredo

One of the most apparent needs the Scrambler had was body work.

The previous owner had not used the jeep in 5-6 years and his kids broke the windows in the hardtop. He did try to cover the jeep at some time but with the weather and all the junk left in the back, the bed was rusted very badly.

As you can see the rust was so bad much of it was removed by hand but the front of the interior was in very good shape.

I purchased a replacement bed from Classic Enterprises ( http://classicent.com/ ) and began work to replace the bed.

When cutting out the old rusted bed, I left a 2 inch lip for the new bed to sit on. I did not have a welder or the option to cut the old bed out entirely and weld in place so I had to rivot the new bed down. This meant that I had to notch the 3 underneath supports on the new bed to have it sit flush.

Here is the bed in place.

I also had to replace the sheetmetal in the driverside floor pan.
